Download YouTube Videos - Formats, Quality and Limits
YouTube delivers anything above 720p as two separate streams: video with no audio, and audio on its own. Any tool that hands you a single 1080p file has recombined them after downloading. This matters because it is where most failures happen - an interrupted download frequently leaves you with video that plays perfectly and has no sound at all.
Files that already contain both streams together generally stop at 360p or 720p depending on how the video was uploaded. If you want a small file quickly and do not need high resolution, that route is faster and has fewer ways to go wrong.
Audio-only extraction pulls the audio stream directly rather than stripping it out of a video file afterwards, so you get YouTube original encoding instead of a re-encode of a re-encode.
Key Features:
- Separate audio extraction without re-encoding
- Combined and separate stream handling
- Video and audio recombined into one file
- Title, channel and duration metadata
